How many times a day do you find yourself frustrated by what you are noticing others take for granted?
Let me give you an example, every time I see someone write! Just write a quick note, or write a letter, or write down a grocery list…it takes them seconds, but for me, I can barely write anymore and it would take me three times as long…oh that sucks! Or how about watching someone type on the computer or text?  OMG! What about trying to do my hair…I’m lucky I am not a woman and I feel their pain, but I still want to look decent going out so to put gel in my hair evenly with the use of only one good hand and one not so good hand…let me tell you it does not work well at all!  What about tripping on carpet, a floor mat, the driveway?  And what about zippers and buttons, don’t even get me started on zippers and buttons!  LOL Those of you who share my pain understand how hard it is to button and zipper everything!

The functions people take for granted, like all the above, are just little everyday normal tasks, that all of a sudden once you have had a stroke, become very difficult if not impossible!

It would be a dream come true to be to be able to do any of those tasks normally again…. 🙁 Well, the reality is it’s just not in the cards, which is ok.

I try really hard to not get jealous of people who can write, type, etc and try to focus on what God has given me. We all have different stories and different areas that have been affected, but we all share one thing in common, we had a stroke.  Life will never be the same again but don’t give up hope, don’t give in to self pity, and don’t be jealous, because life is too short, and you are alive, so live as much as you can and be grateful for all you can do!

Keep it real!
